Working together to enhance the local area.
Our Environmental Policy is something we strongly believe in as group of people who have been brought up and work in the countryside. We take notice of our surroundings and manage them in a way which at a least mitigate harm. In many cases we actually seek to enhance the area we operate in. For example, we promote the protect and growth of wildlife habitats such as native wildflowers to cater for pollinators.
We mitigate the use of energy by having efficient well maintained equipment fit for purpose and only used where necessary. Lighting is kept to a minimum so as not to waste energy and avoid light pollution. Our water supply is metered and controlled to identify waste. Refuse is separated and sorted prior to collection.
Our commitment to the environment has been recognised by the David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme, which has given us a gold award. We are proud to be a supporter of Sustainable Tourism and we follow the principles laid out in the World Charter for Sustainable Tourism.
As part of our policy, we encourage our customers and suppliers to be as environmentally conscious as possible. For example, see an example of the environmentally sustainable policies of one of our holiday home suppliers, Victory Leisure Homes, here.
